07/13/2010 - Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Philadelphia Flyers signed left wing Dan Carcillo to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Carcillo, 25, had filed for salary arbitration last week.

"We are happy to have Dan under contract for the 2010-11 season," said Philadelphia general manager Paul Holmgren.

Carcillo posted 12 goals and 10 assists over 76 games with Philly last season, his fourth in the NHL. His 207 penalty minutes ranked fourth in the NHL.

Over 225 games between Phoenix and Philadelphia, he has 32 goals and 35 assists with 859 penalty minutes.

Points (or Runs) Scored

Another bet across all major team sports including football, basketball, baseball, and hockey involves wagering on the amount of scoring in a game, called an Over/Under total. For example, the Over/Under total on Super Bowl XXXIX was 48, which means a bettor could wager whether there would be more or less than 48 points scored by both teams combined in the game.

The final score of Super Bowl XXXIX was 24-21; the scoring of both teams added up to 45, which means the game went Under . So Under bettors won, and Over bettors lost.

Future Bets

For example, a 6-point teaser would move the line on a 7-point favorite from -7 to -1, meaning the team would have to cover 6 less points.
